Goodyear

Goodyear was founded in 1917 by Paul Litchfield of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The company purchased land to grow "egyptian" cotton for their tires. The area was first known as "Egypt." Today, Goodyear is a growing suburb. Goodyear is just south of Luke Air Force Base, the largest fighter training base in the world with 38,000 flights per year. Nestled near the base of the Estrella Mountains, Goodyear is one of the fastest growing cities in the State. Yet it offers all the advantages of a small community. Twenty minutes west of downtown Phoenix.
